Cattle must be on the grounds by 10:00am

Wilmot Agricultural Society recommends that all exhibitors and competitors maintain minimum insurance liability of $1 million.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

Definition of an exhibit: all purebred registered animals, whether owned by one person or more than one person (individually or jointly) which are maintained on one farm or breeding unit, are considered to be the production of one farm or breeding unit. Each breed must be shown separately and have at least three exhibitors and 12 animals per breed to be eligible for the Federal prize money contribution. Where there are less than three exhibitors in one breed, the Fair will pay 50% of the prize money offered. All exhibits must be owned by and registered in the name of the exhibitor. All animals must be legibly tattooed if applicable. No animal will be allowed to show unless its registration certificate, health chart and production certificate are available for inspection and found in order by officials before judging. All cattle must be groomed and fitted for the show. This show operates under the Federal Livestock Classification All classes to be on an open basis. All livestock prize money will be mailed to each winning exhibitor shortly after the Fair, less 10% entry fee.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Tuberculosis: test for tuberculosis are not required to cover cattle originating from:

(a) Herds dealt with under the accredited Herd Plan in good standing

(b) Herds in accredited areas with good standing

Brucellosis: No owner or person in charge of an animal over the age of six months, except steers, spayed heifers and official vaccinates under the age of 18 months, shall show the animal unless it comes from a Brucellosis-free region or a Brucellosis-free listed herd and is accompanied by a certificate signed by an inspector indicating:

(a) The Brucellosis-free region or Burcellosis-free listed herd from which the animal came.

(b) In the case of an animal from a Bucellosis regions that the animals has proved negative to all tests for Brucellosis required from animals in a Brucellosis-free region or

(c) Comes from a herd of negative status in a region other than a Brucellosis-free region and has proved negative to a test for Brucellosis conducted by an inspector or an accredited veterinarian within 60 days preceding the show and is accompanied by a certificate signed by an inspector indicating the negative results of the Brucellosis test, the date of test and the negative status of the herd from which the animal came. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to contact the District Office of the Health of Animals Branch to make arrangements for these Health Certificates.
